10 Sep 1883 First post office is established as Walnut.
26 Oct 1883 Walnut Springs organized by Texas Central Railroad when it dedicates streets to public use.
1885 First Texas Central Railroad shops are built.
10 Dec 1885 Central College opens its doors with 108 students.
26 Jun 1886 The first edition of The Bosque Citizen is published in Walnut Springs.
29 Apr 1887 Cyclone causes serious damage.
23 May 1887 Walnut Springs incorporated for school purposes.
17 Jun 1892 First railroad coach overhauled in Texas Central Railroad shop
16 Sep 1892 Name of post office changed to Walnut Springs.
02 Nov 1902 Walnut Springs is incorporated.
19 Aug 1904 First oil burning locomotive used on the Texas Central rail line
07 May 1906 One-third of the Walnut Springs business district is destroyed by fire.
15 Jun 1910 Texas Central becomes the property of Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad.

1935 TC-MKT shops permanently closed and moved to Bellmead.
